UMUMNYA MENGHINDARI: Fenotiazin dapat mengantagonis efek farmakologis dari amfetamin, turunan amfetamin, dan lainnya secara terpusat bertindak simpatomimetik agen (yaitu, stimulan SSP). Sebaliknya, agen-agen ini dapat mengurangi neuroleptik khasiat fenotiazin. Mekanisme yang tepat dari interaksi ini tidak diketahui tetapi mungkin melibatkan efek berlawanan pada aktivitas dopaminergik. Beberapa studi klinis telah menunjukkan pengurangan atau kurangnya efek amfetamin pada penurunan berat badan pada obesitas kejiwaan pasien yang diobati dengan klorpromazin dan lain neuroleptik agen. Dalam salah satu studi, dextroamphetamine juga tidak berpengaruh pada pola tidur.
